HOSTEL RULES AND GUIDELINES

3.1 Admission & Allotment

• Hostel accommodation is allotted by the warden/principal on a first-come, first-served or merit basis.
• Students must occupy only the room assigned to them.
• Rooms are non-transferable under any circumstances.

3.2 Timings

• Entry and exit from the hostel are allowed only during the permitted hours.
• Girls’ Hostel Curfew: 6:00 PM
• Boys’ Hostel Curfew: 9:00 PM
• Late entry without valid reason or prior permission will result in disciplinary action.

3.4 Discipline & Conduct

• Students must maintain cleanliness, silence, and decorum inside the hostel.
• Disrespectful behavior, ragging, or bullying is strictly prohibited and punishable under anti-ragging laws.
• Use of abusive language, loud music, shouting, or creating nuisance is not allowed.
• Students must behave respectfully with hostel staff, wardens, and fellow residents.

3.5 Cleanliness & Hygiene

• Rooms must be kept neat and tidy. Regular checks may be conducted by the warden.
• Littering in common areas or damaging hostel property is not allowed.
• Washrooms must be used responsibly and kept clean.

3.6 Furniture & Electricals

• Students are responsible for the furniture and fixtures provided in their rooms.
• Use of unauthorized electrical appliances (iron, heater, immersion rod, etc.) is not allowed without warden approval.
• Any damage to hostel property must be reported and compensated.

3.7 Visitors

• Visitors are allowed only during designated visiting hours with prior approval.
• Visitors must register in the visitor logbook at the gate.
• No outsiders are allowed to stay in the hostel without written permission.

3.8 Prohibited Activities

• Smoking, drinking, drug use, or possession of harmful substances is strictly prohibited.
• Weapons, sharp objects, and inflammable items are not allowed.
• No student shall be allowed to stay outside overnight without prior permission from the warden.

3.9 Academic Commitment

• Hostel life should support academic performance.
• Study hours or quiet time may be enforced to ensure focus and discipline.

3.10 Disciplinary Action

• Any suspicious behavior or safety concern must be immediately reported to the warden.
• Violation of hostel rules will attract:
• Verbal or written warnings
• Monetary fines
• Suspension or expulsion from the hostel based on severity
